Is it possible? Could the music on Arisen New Era be as stunning as the cover art? It might not seem possible, if you weren’t already familiar with Kronos. But those who are familiar with the three widely praised albums they’ve released so far know that this French band are quite capable of matching the sheer gob-smacking splendor of this artwork for their fourth one. The question is, have they done so? You’re about to find out, because we’re bringing you the premiere of a lyric video for the new album’s first advance track: “Klymenos Underwrath“.
The new song is a hallmark of what Kronos do so well — delivering torrential, brutalizing death metal with an almost tangible physical power while also crafting memorable melodies that flow through the surrounding carnage like shining waters through a conflagration.
And yes, “Klymenos Underwrath” is carnage incarnate — an overpowering onslaught of rapid-fire drum and bass propulsion matched with flurries of jolting riffs and boiling guitar solos and accompanied by a fusillade of bestial growls. And yes, it includes an exotic Eastern melody that gives the song character and that will stay with you.
And yes again, to answer the question we began with, this is a convincing portent that Kronos have indeed crafted an album that’s more than a match for the terrible glories of the cover art.
Arisen New Era will be released via Unique Leader Records on July 24, 2015. Here’s the track list:
1. Infernal Abyss Sovereignty
2. Zeus Dethroned
3. Soul-Voracious Vultures
4. Rapture In Misery
5. Klymenos Underwrath
6. Aeons Titan Crown
7. Brotherlords
8. Purity Slaughtered
9. Hellysium
And by the way, the cover art was created by Pierre-Alain D. (Withering Soul, Silentlie, Cyrax, etc.), a graphic artist and designer from Nantes, France (3mmi Design).
After these links, prepare to be destroyed by “Klymenos Underwrath“, as Hades rises from the underworld.

Yup, I need this 🙂
Reminds me a bit of the older, more modern sounding Bloodbath material, but with a bit more technical flair. Solid as a goddamn brick – I approve and dig this.
Amazing art, amazing music, may the force be with theses frenchies ! 🙂
Lyrical delivery is occasionally a bit… “I must fit all these words in even if it sounds awkward”… but overall… yes. More of this please.
The vocals remindes me a bit of old school Scar Symmetry. I rsally like this.
I haven’t forgotten the Colossal Titan Strife! It’s one of my all time favourites.
Pretty straight forward for a Kronos track, it’s still a solid one, got to get this album.
Love this, agree with Goshicrazy on the SS vocal style. Artwork through to execution and subject matter it’s a must-have for me.
