Well, hot fucking shit. It was less than a week ago when we reported the latest news about the UK’s Dragged Into Sunlight, and now look at this juicy (and somewhat frightening) piece of news that just popped into my e-mail inbox this afternoon (and then proceeded to dissolve the whole thing in a pool of acid):
Dragged Into Sunlight will be touring the U.S. this summer, beginning with an appearance at The Maryland Deathfest on May 26. On the front half of the tour, they’ll be joined by Cough and on the back half they’ll be touring with Wolvhammer.
By all accounts, this band puts on a cataclysmic live show. Certainly, their recorded music is a soul-sucking morass of depravity and despair, and of course I love it. There’s only one eensie weensie itty bitty tiny little problem: The closest they’re getting to the Pacific Northwest is motherfuckin’ Arkansas!!!
Now THAT is soul-sucking, and not in a good way. Dudes, are you really going back to the UK with nothing but stories about the Ozarks, when you could be describing the majesty of the Cascades and the shitty bathrooms at Studio Seven or El Corazon? Say it ain’t so!
I’m gonna go stick my head in the oven and turn on the gas. The rest of you can see all the tour dates after the jump. Shit.

Holy motherfucking shit! They’re going to be in Lexington! Playing at the bar two blocks from my apartment! YESSSSSSSS.
I want to kill you.
Me as well.
Kinda bummed I will miss them. Was all set to see them at MDF, but had to scrap those plans in place of Barge to Hell. And Panama City, FL is a world away from Orlando.
If it turns out I can afford the trip to Baltimore next month, I’d most likely be only able to go on Sunday. But look at that, June 11th… neat.
Oh and… I am familiar with Cough but I don’t think I know Wolvhammer. What can anybody share about them?
Wolvhammer is great. Here’s a review I wrote of their first album, which includes some music:

Their most recent album is The Obsidian Plains (2011), which is even better. Here’s one of my favorite tracks from that album:

Cool, thanks!
I AM MOVING TO PITTSBURGH TOO LATE!!!!!
Cool news! When that happening?
After Maiden in July.
You think you miss out on tours? Try living in Canada, it’s fucking painful sometimes.
(Like having a rat eat through your chest painful, not like stubbed toe painful)
I would say I’m sympathetic except I care only about my own suffering.
Amen (eh-men?) brother. It’s even worse on the West Coast. We get skipped a lot more than Ontario and even Alberta.
That artwork makes me want to like them. I know, I’m shallow. But I never really had the ambition to let them grow on me, until now!
Sadly I rarely ever get out of my state, so I don’t think I’ll be seeing them live even if I do happen to get into them by the time they hit Philly. I was hoping to go to MDFX, but that’s probably not happening.
I get Wolvhammer mixed up with another band I think… was it Wolvhammer that did the split with Coffins or was that the other band whose name escapes me? TO BANDCAMP!
Nope, I get them mixed up with Stormcrow… who happen to share a label with Wolvserpent, a band with a similar name to Wolvhammer.
Well Florida has gotten better the past few years but we still get skipped a lot. But that’s one of the many reasons I try to get on all the metal cruises. 42 bands each time, 1stop shopping and knocks a lot of bands of my TO SEE LIST 🙂
@Islander another reason why I love the site!!! great recommendations so far!!!! It sucks I live in the Dominican Republic, cause I can’t see any of the bands I love 🙁 but hey at least Ricky martin and Britney had concerts here, ohh the inhumanity. Well anyway like I’ve said before fan of your work man
