We’ve been following North Carolina’s Æther Realm quite closely since discovering their auspicious debut EP Odin Will Provide (2011). At last, the band have completed their first album — One Chosen By the Gods — which is scheduled for release on January 8. And today, we’re pleased to give you an advance listen to the entire album.
But don’t dither around, because this full-album stream will only be up for one day. And as for what we think of the music, it’s very, very good. For a detailed assessment, check out DGR’s review posted a bit earlier today.

I have not heard Melodic Death/Folky stuff done this well in a loooooooong time. Killer!
Then you clearly haven’t listened much..
It’s not bad for an American band which practically has no pagan roots but there are better ones..
I’ve been looking forward to a debut by these guys for awhile, and it does not disappoint. Early contender to make the 2013 best of list.
Inspiring stuff!
Ravensong kicks my bawlsach black and blue!
I liked this album better when it was called Wintersun.
me too
when does part II come out?
70 years from now
Really good stuff! The album cover looks funny, but that’s not a big deal – the music is great!
I like it. This doesn’t sound like Wintersun. Way more folk influence. This is better than that lasty fruity Wintersun, IMO.
What a good experience for my ears!
Well this album certainly floats my (long)boat.
