Well, I’m afraid I need to take a break from our normal afternoon roll-out of the 2012 Most Infectious Extreme Metal Song list. I could explain why, but then I’d have to kill you. Well, I wouldn’t kill you myself. I’d send out a squad of ninja lorises. You’d probably die of old age before they got there.
Anyway, I do have something else for you. Actually, I have three new videos to share. Because time is short, I won’t say much about them other than to say I think you should watch and hear them.
OFFICIUM TRISTE
This long-running doom/death band from The Netherlands have a new album due for release on Hammerheart Records. Its name is Mors Viri, and it was mixed by Ronnie Björnström. The album features vocals by long-time Officium Triste member Pim Blankenstein, and that’s basically all I needed to know.
The video is for a new song called “The Wounded and the Dying”. It’s really just the music, but doom fans will want to hear this. Listen:

VENOMOUS MAXIMUS
I’ve said plenty about this band in the past. I love ’em. I included one of the songs from their 2012 album in our Most Infectious Song List for the year just ended. The new music video which debuted yesterday is for a different song, but it’s a hot shit song, too — “Path of Doom”. Cool fuckin’ video, too.
And if you still haven’t checked out Beg Upon the Light, what am I going to do with you? Two ninja loris squads? Three?

DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA
This band released a new official music video today. The song is “Black Box Messiah”, which appears on their widely heralded 2012 album Pandora’s Pinata. I don’t love this band as much as a lot of you do, but I’m including this video because I know there are some die-hard fans of the album out there. Also, I thought this video was cool. If strobing imagery bothers you, you won’t think it’s cool.
One isn’t bothered by the strobing. But, having the whole video like that was annoying. The imagery in the video feels too dissociated from the song, even though it’s a performance video for the said song. (-_-)
Really liking that Officium Triste song, had to play it again after the first listen. Not sure it really counts as a video since it’s just the same picture the whole time, but I’ll go with it.
