I think this qualifies as a HOLY FUCKING SHIT moment, and if you disagree then your mouth must be much better behaved than mine.

Word leaked last week about this tour, but yesterday it was confirmed, and dates were disclosed. The second annual DECIBEL MAGAZINE TOUR will include Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, and Immolation. In other words, genuine death metal and grind royalty from both sides of the Atlantic.

Other face-ripping bands will join the sonic evisceration party on selected dates: Beyond Creation, Cretin, and Magrudergrind.

I have to say that DECIBEL is not fucking around, any more than they did last year for the Euro-centric inaugural edition of this tour (which featured Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood, and In Solitude). It’s refreshing to see a tour packaged without any effort to pander in any way to the tastes of people who don’t want to get their fuckin’ teeth kicked in.

It’s also refreshing to see that this tour is stopping in Seattle. I feel refreshed. Almost as if I’d had a hamburger composed of raw human flesh, which is the kind of meal I expect will be delivered when this thing smashes the living fuck out of Seattle.

Here are the dates. The DECIBEL announcement I saw didn’t include details on which of the three supporting bands will be playing which cities, but I figured out the schedule for two of them by visiting their Facebook page. More details, including ticket info, will be announced at www.decibelmagazinetour.com.

  1. Orlando for the last show!

  2. Oh god. Harpos?

    REALLY!?!?!

  3. So I take it someone will go to El Corazon??? Damn it I would love to see those three bands!!!!

    • Oh hell yes, I’ll be there (barring hospitalization, imprisonment, or some bullshit from my fucking day job).

      • There are still VIP tickets available for this show at decibelmagazinetickets.com. Only 35 bucks and you get a skip the line pass, a shirt, a poster and a couple other goodies. After all the extra fees when buying a regular ticket online, this package ends up costing less than $2 more. Totally worth it. Although I’m not entirely sure how everything’s gonna work as the tickets are will call (at least for El Corazon), but I guess I’ll find out when I get there.

        • I’ve bought some of these tix already. I bought the same kind for the Gojira/Devin Townsend show at El Corazon last weekend. You just get up close to the door (NOT in the line) and they’ll eventually ask the VIP ticket holders to go on in, and they’ll look your name up on the Will Call list just inside the door.

        • Forgot to mention that you should take your order confirmation e-mail with you — you’ll probably need that to get the swag bag once you’re inside.

          • Yeah, I figured I’d just bring the proper documentation and stand around by the door until someone asked me what the hell I was doing there.

  4. I seriously wish I lived in a city where Beyond Creation were opening. It’s a small qualm though. I can’t really complain about the rest of the lineup… it’s pretty unfuckwithable

  5. No Denver. FFFFFUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!

  6. Let’s get this straight…Town Ballroom has the Katatonia/Opeth tour on May 18 and this bill 2 weeks later? Guess I’m taking a couple road trips to Buffalo this spring.

  7. I was about to complain that this is better than the UK tour with Cannibal Corpse co-headlining with DevilDriver – as even though the UK dates have The Black Dahlia Murder (who I LOVE), they also have Winds Of Plague (who are abysmal) – BUT…

Hour Of Penance just announced they’re replacing WoP on the trek. Fuck. Yes.

    So HoP + TBDM + CC… I’m sold.

    • Yep, that’s a MAJOR upgrade. I don’t know if that’s better than this US tour — fortunately I don’t have to make any such choice — but it’s awful damned strong.

      • Having seen both and listened to both, i like WoP better than HoP.

        Come at me, bro(?)

        • I see that recent stroke you suffered damaged your musical taste centres.

WoP are pretty much without musical merit. I can categorically say the world could have lived without the unfortunate melding of ignorant tough-guy hardcore and high-school black metal.
