(Andy Synn delivers another installment of his irregular series of album reviews in haiku. Two more reviews come after the jump. With music.)

DARK TRANQUILLITYCONSTRUCT

Marriage of borrowed

And blue. Projector meets Void.

Not quite something new.

  1. Pelagial is the album of the year, decade, and millenium in my book. Only Opeth’s Still Life and Blackwater Park compete.

    • I bought Pelagial about two weeks ago and I’ve probably listened to it twenty times, maybe more, and it just keeps getting better with every listen. I doubt anything will knock this out of my #1 spot for my top ten list for 2013. Album of the decade? Well, I’m sure it’ll be in my top ten.

      • I feel the same way. I loved Pelagial on first listen, but as I listened to it more and more (quite copiously in the first few weeks I had it) I discovered even more buried beneath the surface. Even now, every time I listen to it, it grows on me.

    • Pelagial is indeed a wonderous album. Even though I appreciate the reviews in haikus, I wouldn’t have minded reading a full-length review of both Pelagial and Construct.

Speaking of which, I do agree with the fact that Construct offers nothing new under the sun, though there are subtleties to the album that make me hope for a stellar album in two or three years. Plus the last track – None Becoming – is really, really good.

  2. Horna sounds awesome!! 🙂
