Happy Saturday to all of you. It is not a happy Saturday for yours truly. I am still mired in day-job hell, or more accurately, day-and-night-job hell. Fortunately, other people have been stepping up and providing content for our site, but until I make it to the end of my work project next weekend we’ll still be a bit light on NCS content.
I continue to be way behind in checking out new songs and videos, but I did spot a few this morning that I thought were worth sharing. Because I’ve got to get my nose back to the grindstone, I’m once again just going to throw the music at you with minimal commentary.
NIGHTRAGE
First single “Kiss Of A Sycophant” from Nightrage’s upcoming album The Puritan. Maximum ass-kicking, very catchy, and new vocalist Ronnie Nyman sounds killer. Good video, too.

DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT
The song is “Requiem” from this German black metal band’s new album Stellar, which will be out on March 23 (EU) and 24 (US) via Season of Mist. Doug Moore’s write-up about the premiere at Stereogum a couple days ago nails it. Very cool opening and closing in this song, and what’s in between is devastating.

HELLRIPPER
Here’s an EP entitled The Manifestation of Evil by a one-man band (James McBain) from Aberdeen, Scotland, named Hellripper. And yes, it rips hell — a very tasty stew of black metal, speed metal, thrash, and punk. Free on Bandcamp.

MUCK
This video is for a song named “My City” by a hardcore/punk band named Muck. They dwell in Reykjavík, Iceland. The song is from an album named Your Joyous Future, which comes out on February 24 via Prosthetic Records. Cool video and the song has gotten stuck in my addled head.

Okay, I’m going back to work now. Enjoy the rest of your fucking day. I won’t be enjoying the rest of mine.
“Requiem” is awesome 🙂 Hellripper’s artwork fits his music perfectly, that’s some major asskicking!
Loving the new Der Weg Einer Freheit and Muck tracks.
Hell Ripper really rips hell! It has all the elements that made me love Trench Hell.
