(Austin Weber introduces our premiere of a lyric video for song from the new album by Deviant Process from Quebec, Canada.)
I’ve been meaning to cover the new Deviant Process here at NCS for a while since I’ve previously only covered them at Metal-Injection. Luckily, I know Islander mentioned them recently in an article, but I’ll take any chance I can to cover these Canadian tech-death freaks again and their new album, Paroxysm.
In my initial assessment of it, I recommended it for fans of Quo Vadis and Augury, and while this is often more aggressive than both of those bands, it shares a certain element with both of them as far as the dense prog-oriented songwriting and technical, melodic-infused take on tech-death goes.
So with the album recently out, we’ve got a lyric video to show you for their song “Unconscious”. Since the artwork for Paroxysm is really interesting, a lot of the lyric video is dedicated to showing you all the detail within certain parts of it as the video progresses. Which certainly adds something cool to the experience of watching the lyric video.
I can’t say enough good things about Paroxysm, so instead of going overboard, I’ll just say that you really need to jam this record!
Deviant Process – Paroxysm is out now through PRC Records and can be ordered from their label here:

This album is awesome — I found it through your Metal Injection post and loved it. And “Unconscious” is a particularly killer track. Thanks!
Sick dude that makes me happy to hear!
