Back in February we had the pleasure of premiering a track (“Scorn”) from Miserycorde, the new album by Oracles. Today we’ve got another head-spinner from the album to share with you — “Body of Ineptitude” — and this one features an insane guest solo from none other than Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, ex-Nevermore).
If you still don’t know about Oracles, the line-up is stacked with talent. It combines the voice of Athenian-born, classically trained soprano Sanna Salou with the instrumental and vocal skills of these current and former members of Aborted, System Divide, and Abigail Williams:
Sven De Caluwé (Aborted) – vocals
Mendel Bij de Leij (Aborted) – guitar
Steve Miller (ex-System Divide, Loculus) – guitar
Andrei Aframov (ex-System Divide) – bass
Ken Bedene (Aborted, ex-Abigail Williams) – drums
When I referred to “Body of Ineptitude” as a “head-spinner”, I wasn’t exaggerating. It batters, it gallops, it rampages, it detonates, it rips and tears, and thanks to Sanna Salou it soars skyward like a rocket. It’s also a massive headbang trigger, so loosen up your neck muscles before diving in.
And I believe I did mention that Jeff Loomis is in here, waiting patiently until the song builds toward its crescendo and then delivering a piece of molten shred that will leave your face in tatters.
Miserycorde was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Epica, Volbeat) and features artwork by Colin Marks from Rain Song Design (Nevermore, Exodus). It’s scheduled for release by Deadlight Entertainment on July 1st.

JL has been the best guitarist in metal for over 10 years now. Unreal solo.
He really is unbeatable.
Good track. Great vocals from both vocalists, awesome rhythm and killer solo by the MAN.
I was most amused bu just HOW many bands they hashtagged trying to promote this:
#oracles #fleshgod_apocalypse #septicflesh #nevermore #archenemy #devildriver #epica #children_of_bodom #aborted #thagonist #inflames #darktranquility #periphery #tesseract #lacunacoil
It’s clear that they’re really going for a “certain” kind of success.
Not THE worst thing I’ve ever heard, but close. Juxtaposition of vocal styles does NOT work in my opinion. Only thing saving this tune is Loomis. Best Metal guitar player right now.
