That eye-catching cover up there is for a new digital single that Greek symphonic black metal band Septic Flesh will be releasing on Friday. The single is called “The Vampire From Nazareth”. I wonder who that refers to?
Septic Flesh’s new album, as yet unnamed, will hit the stores on April 18, 2011 (one day later in the U.S.) in various editions. It will include orchestral elements provided by the Filmharmonic Orchestra of Prague, and it was produced by none other than Pain/Hypocrisy mainman Peter Tägtgren (who’s done similar duties for the likes of Amon Amarth, Marduk, Therion, Children of Bodom, Celtic Frost, and Immortal).
The last album from Septic Flesh, 2008’s Communion, was just all kinds of awesome. We’ll be very interested to hear this new single. Don’t worry — we’ll probably remind you again on Friday.

I’m not really a fan of symphonic black metal, but you have to hand it to them, that cover fucking rules, although if it’s a vampire why does it look like it’s straight out of Alien?
That fetal image does look like a smaller version of the fully grown Alien creature. But I do see some big protruding canines too. In poster form, this will make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas!

Aah Septic Flesh, love em! Can’t wait for this release and the full album, as stated Communion was indeed awesome in all forms possible. Seth Siro Anton is also easily my favourite artist for album art work and the such, his stuff is mesmerizing.
When we do our reminder on Friday, we will have to provide some additional examples of Mr. Anton’s art. 🙂
communion by septic flesh is one of my all time favorite albums. their older stuff im not too big of a fan on but i think i read that they had a different lineup for communion and thats why it sounds so different… better and more epic lol. super excited for the new album
I heard one of those 30-second samples of the new single on Amazon, and as much as you can tell anything from 30 seconds, it sounds elike it will be epic.
