This is about the time when we usually post our first something-or-other for the day, but work and life got in the way this time and it won’t be ready for another hour or two. In the meantime, here’s a mystery song for your listening pleasure. It’s from a new album, and the band is from Canada, and that’s all I’ll give away for now. I’ll also promise that this song will make your head move.
[audio:https://www.nocleansinging.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Mystery-song.mp3|titles=Mystery song]What do you think of that song? Does it remind you of anyone? There’s more coming . . .
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but, I think that there media player compromised the secrecy of your mystery band. Maybe you could replace it with another one?
Oops. I probably can’t hide the band’s name, as it turns out, since I think it’s included in the metadata on the music file, and I’m not tech-savvy enough to figure out how to remove that. I changed the file now before uploading it, but that obviously wasn’t enough.
Well, anyhoo, I hope you and others dig the song.
Heh… you need to get an mp3 tag editing program, looks like. And I kinda dig this album.
Also, it’s not noticeable on the album art, but that totally looks like the Assassin’s Creed assassin logo.
That does look like the Assassin symbol. Totally getting the new AC later this year, only TES V: Skyrim takes priotority over it…
There are more, similar images for this band’s music. I was planning to show them later when I “revealed” the identity of the band. I fucked that up, but I may still hold on to some of the album art, just in case people don’t track it down on their own. I still can’t believe I didn’t even test the music player to see what I’d wrought. Man, I’m even more stoopid than I give myself credit for.
Yeah, if I’m gonna make a big deal about a mystery song, I at least ought to figure out how to make it an actual mystery. I’d be embarrassed, except that I do so many more embarrassing things on a daily basis. Still, pretty fuckin lame.
Your tag editing impotency aside, I think this kicks some serious ass. Now, when I haul my computer in to work tomorrow to escape from the heat (low 90’s, heat index over 100 is the forecast), I can give this a more proper listen – albeit through headphones, since I won’t be able to bring my speakers as well.
I think this whole album might be to your liking. More to stream here:

So far, so good; the music kind of reminds me of Battlelore, the vocals not so much. Alright by me, though!
I see that Dying Sun is available as a free download, so I’ll start with that and might get Eyes Of A Monument tomorrow.
